The Collie J. Nicholson Chapter of Grambling University National Alumni Association offers an Educational Scholarship Award annually to distinguished students whose parents’ or legal guardians’ primary residence is in the North Dallas Metroplex. Eligible students must demonstrate leadership skills, participate in community service activities and submit a letter of recommendation from either a school faculty member or manager.  Additionally, applicants are judged on their completion of a 250-word essay based on one of the confronting issues in our society below.

  1. What are solutions to minimize the college dropout rate?
  2. Write an editorial to your mayor complaining about problems in your city.
  3. Why do you think HBCUs are relevant, and what vital role do HBCUs play in our society?

We invite you to apply for our Educational Scholarship Award.  Enclosed you will find a scholarship application and detailed information outlining the process for completing the application. The deadline for submission of all information is July 30, 2023.  We hope you will consider this scholarship opportunity as you attend Grambling State University.
